New York Community Hospital’s recently renovated and expanded Emergency Department offers large clinical areas, a spacious waiting room for families, and skilled, courteous staff—all working to make your experience here as comfortable as possible.

New York Community Hospital is staffed by seasoned Attending Physicians as well as an extremely caring nursing staff that contribute to the highest patient satisfaction ratings in the region.

Since an emergency can happen at any time, our Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year—so you can access emergency care whenever you need it.

Our Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances are fully integrated into the city-wide 911 system and operated by qualified Emergency Medical Technicians, who deliver care on-site and on the way to the hospital.

Patients are usually seen within 15 minutes of their arrival, virtually eliminating long stays in the waiting room. By consulting our hospital web site you will be able to track current waiting times.

New York Community Hospital’s Emergency Department offers state-of-the-art technology to treat all cardiac and pulmonary emergencies, and is designated by the American Heart Association as a Heart Station.
