Medical emergencies are no picnic for anyone, but should one happen to you or a loved one, it’s important to know where you can receive the best, most efficient care. At New York Community Hospital, we put a premium on high-quality treatment, prompt service and compassionate care in our Emergency Department, and it begins before you even get to the hospital.
Our Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances are fully integrated into the city-wide 911 system and operated by qualified Emergency Medical Technicians, who deliver care on-site and on the way to the hospital. Patients are usually seen within 15 minutes of their arrival, virtually eliminating long stays in the waiting room.
A designated Heart Station by the American Heart Association, New York Community Hospital’s Emergency Department offers state-of-the-art technology to treat all cardiac and pulmonary emergencies.
New York Community Hospital’s Emergency Department offers large clinical areas, a spacious waiting room for families and skilled, courteous staff—all working to make your experience here as comfortable as possible. Since an emergency can happen at any time, our Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year—so you can get emergency care whenever you need it.
