I normally do not write letters, but I felt compelled to write this one. This is in reference to the pain management center located on the fourth floor at the Community Hospital of Brooklyn, NY.

I had been experience chronic pain in both my upper and lower back for some time. It hurt to do almost anything, walking was the worst. I needed pain killers just to manage on a daily basis. My Neurologist suggested that I see a pain specialist. I have had to have a number of surgeries over the years and was extremely apprehensive at going to a hospital for any type of procedure. From the minute I got to the 4th floor of the hospital, my fears were alleviated. Everyone on the doctors staff was professional and efficient, they made me feel at ease in a stressful situation.

I felt that I made a good choice in coming here and, as a group, each of the staff members cared for me and wanted to help me get better. Everyone from the records person to the nurses in the recovery room and O.R. were wonderful. Almost a year later I had to return. What a great feeling it was to have the same staff there, still caring for patients. I knew at that point I had no worries. I felt that I was important to every staff member in the pain center and that I would be treated exceptionally well. Before coming to the pain center I had such horrific trouble just trying to walk a half a block. Last week I was able to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. All praise to the doctor and the fantastic, combined, staff at the pain management center at Community Hospital.

I had the pleasure of being an outpatient in your Ambulatory Surgical Unit for foot surgery. From the minute I walked in at the early hour of 6:00AM, until the time I was discharged, I encountered a staff that was very friendly, warm and professional who treated me with the utmost care. Being in the medical field myself, I can honestly say I had the best care possible. I wish I had everyone’s name so I could thank everyone individually, including the receptionist, transporters, RN’s, Anesthesiologist, all of the doctors and even the car service driver – everyone was simply the best. Sometimes smaller hospitals tend to be overlooked, but I would and have recommended New York Community Hospital for excellent patient care. Thank you for making this an amazing experience for me.

Recently I was seen at the Pain Relief Center at New York Community Hospital. I was thoroughly impressed with the facilities and services at the hospital. The staff are some of the friendliest, most qualified people that I have ever encountered in any profession. Everyone knew what needed to be done, at what time and did it with a smile and compassion. Any questions that myself or any of the other patients had was answered quickly and with a friendly disposition. The space afforded to the Pain Relief Center is magnificent. It is clean and well appointed, giving the center the best ability to serve their patients as efficiently as possible. I was incredibly impressed how, due to the layout of the examination room, the nurses and doctors are able to see so many patients without anyone feeling rushed or crowded. The car service provided by you through the hospital is an amazing convenience, and in some cases a necessity, for the patients. I can anticipate that many people would not be able to receive the treatment they need without this valuable and generous service. In closing, I would like to thank you for all that you provide through the New York Community Hospital to the residents of Brooklyn. It is professionals as yourself and facilities like your hospital that make Brooklyn a wonderful place to live.
