    Colo-rectal Surgery

    Dr. Michael Fulmes, who was trained at the Cleveland Clinic and at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, is chief of colo-rectal surgery, and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the management of colo-rectal cancers, and other gastrointestinal conditions.

    Commonly performed procedures include painless hemorrhoid treatment, trans-anal removal of rectal polyps and laparoscopic assisted removal of large polyps
    Minimally invasive (laparoscopic) colon resection is available for suitable patients. Dr. Fulmes also offers complex treatment of rectal cancer, pelvic surgery, and emergency colon surgery for perforated diverticulitis and inflammatory megacolon.

    Surgery and post-operative management of conditions requiring intestinal stomas are routinely provided. Dr. Fulmes also provides screening anoscopy for HIV patients (high resolution anoscopy), colonoscopy, follow up after surgery for colorectal cancer, and surveillance after surgery for colorectal cancer
